21 — The Bayou Bartholomew Alliance is seeking volunteers to help complete the Roberson Trail, located on Hazel Street, north of Interstate 530 and south of the doctors’ offices at 4800 S. Hazel St., at 8 a.m. Those interested in participating are asked to bring a garden rake, shovel, wheel barrow and gloves, if possible. Work is expected to be complete by noon, according to a spokesman. This newly constructed trail will be open to the public for hiking, bird watching and wildlife viewing. 23 — The Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas will host the 20th annual Bill Garman Memorial Golf Tournament at Harbor Oaks Golf Club in Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. Warm-up and registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 per four-person team. Early registration is encouraged. 23 — The final preparation meeting for the White Hall High School All-Classmates Reunion will be held at 6 p.m. at the White Hall Library. This year’s reunion will be held on Sept. 29 at the WHHS Cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The program will start at 3 p.m. and the catered meal will be served at 5 p.m. Those who want to help are encouraged to come and bring a friend. 25-29 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas will present performances of ‘Hairspray’ on July 25-28 at 7:30 p.m. and July 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets to the show are $20 for members and $22 for non-members for the opening night. 3 — The Drew County Historical Society will host a special benefit at the Monticello Country Club. Jack Lassiter, chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, will be the guest of honor. The society will also hold a silent auction and a live auction with Judge McElroy of Desha County as master of ceremonies. Viewing of items for the auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 7 p.m. The cost of tickets is $40 per person and $75 per couple.
