6 — Downtown Pine Bluff will come alive with the blues when the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., hosts its monthly music series, Live@5, from 5-7 p.m. Bluesman Detroit Johnnie will perform. 6 — The 2012 “Small Works on Paper” touring art exhibition will be in Pine Bluff on Friday through Aug. 11. Presented by the Arkansas Arts Council, the juried exhibition will be housed in the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St. William R. Detmers of Pine Bluff will have a piece featured in the show. A public reception will be held from 5-7 p.m. July 12 to celebrate the opening. Hours of operation for the ASC are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
6-7 — The Shelton Family reunion will kick off at 6 p.m. July 6 with a meet-and-greet at the Pine Bluff Arsenal Army Reserve Center. At 1 p.m. July 7 the family will enjoy food, fun and games. 7 — The New Edinburg All-School Reunion will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. A potluck luncheon will be served at noon. All those who won a door prize at last year’s reunion, are asked to bring a prize to share.
9-19 — The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County will sponsor a computer summer camp for youth in grades five through eight. The camp will be held Monday through Thursday from 1-4 p.m. in the Workforce Development Center on the campus of Southeast Arkansas College, 1900 Hazel St. The cost of the camp is $40 and is only for children who are members of the Boys and Girls Club.
23 — The Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas will host the 20th annual Bill Garman Memorial Golf Tournament at Harbor Oaks Golf Club in Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. Warm-up and registration and lunch will begin at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 per four-person team. Early registration is encouraged. 25-29 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas will present performances of ‘Hairspray’ on July 25-28 at 7:30 p.m. and July 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets to the show are $20 for members and $22 for non-members for the opening night.
