HOUSTON — Stacy Marie Easterly and Jason Jefferson Johnson exchanged wedding vows at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 at Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight double-ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Biffman Johnson.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Edward Easterly of Pine Bluff. Paternal grandparents are Ms. Lois Easterly of Sheridan and the late Mr. Carrol Easterly, also of Sheridan. Maternal grandparents are Mr. H.T. Commer of Pine Bluff and the late Mrs. Ann H. Commer of Pine Bluff. Stacy is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Lillian Doss and the late Mr. Kenneth Doss, of Pine Bluff.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Francis Johnson of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jefferson Johnson of Houston, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley C. Frank of Houston, Texas.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Dr. Daniel Shipman, musician coordinator and lead trumpeter, and Greg Barra, soloist.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. The ivory strapless gown of embellished embroidery and silk satin featured a sweetheart neckline with a fitted corset bodice beautifully accented with a crystal, embroidered belt around the waistline. The full a-line skirt with soft pleats fell into a circular sweep train. The bride also wore a fingertip length illusion veil edged with Swarovski crystal designed by Toni Federici. She carried a hand-tied round bouquet of ivory cymbidium orchids, ivory garden roses, and white and sage green hydrangea with natural white satin ribbon.
Stephanie Easterly of Fort Worth, Texas, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katherine Bernard, Whitney Clark, Danielle Moore, sister of the groom, and Laura Williamson, all of Houston, and Kelly Gray of Bentonville, Arkansas. They wore floor-length silk chiffon gowns with an asymmetrical draped bodice in a rich midnight blue and carried a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, white miniature calla lilies, mini green hydrangea, green hypericum berries and green amaranthus tied with navy satin ribbon.
Haleigh Scallion of Searcy, Ark., cousin of the bride, and Morgan Denson, of Houston, Texas, served as the scripture readers. Honorary attendants were GeAnna Gomez, Alissa Hicks, and Wimberly Winn, all of Houston, Texas, Kendall Harvey of Austin, Texas and Kyla Humphries of Orem, Utah.
Serving as best man was Christian Johnson of Houston, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included William “Scooter” Hicks, Jeremy Johnson, brother of the groom, William Moore, brother-in-law of the groom, all of Houston, Texas, Kyle Harvey, of Austin, Texas, and Devan Humphries of Orem, Utah.
Ushers were Ben Eisterhold, Mason Herbert, Gregory Houston, Albert Magallon, Gregory Malivers, Thomas Olson, David Towery, Christopher Turner, all of Houston, Texas, and Ronald Winters of Lubbock, Texas.
The bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Corinthian with music by the Divisi Ampd’d Quartet and David Caceras, both of Houston, and Jesse’s Girls from Atlanta, Georgia. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Grand Ballroom of The Houstonian.
After a honeymoon in the Bahamas, Stacy and Jason will reside in Houston. Stacy is currently a licensed clinical social worker with the Houston Eating Disorder Clinic and Jason is a financial analyst with American International Group (AIG) Asset Management.
