Jessica Thompson and John Brown unite in holy matrimony


Jessica Lynn Thompson and John Rhine Brown were united in marriage at 1 p.m. June 22, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff with the Rev. David Fleming officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Thompson Sr., of El Dorado and is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd C. Graves and Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Thompson.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Brown of Pine Bluff. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bacil Taylor and Mrs. Pat Rhine Brown, all of Pine Bluff, and the late Mr. Edward Ezell Brown. He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Mary Frisby of Fort Smith.

Nuptial music was provided by the Four Seasons String Quartet of Hot Springs and organist, Chuck Fuller.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white, duchess satin ball gown with boxed pleats and pockets designed by Mori Lee. The pleated bodice had a sweetheart neckline and was completed with cap sleeves adorned with Swarovski crystals, seed pearls and embroidery. Matching Swarovski crystals, seed pearls and embroidery also embellished the waist. The bride wore a fingertip veil edged in crystals and seed pearls. Satin buttons enhanced the back of the dress and continued down the chapel length train. She carried a nosegay bouquet of pink hydrangeas and white peonies tied with navy blue and white ribbon

Emily Stover served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Parker Nutt, Maribeth Adams, Diana Brown, sister of the groom, and junior bridesmaid, Madalyn Lyons. Bridesmaids wore Mori Lee navy blue floor-length chiffon gowns with a front side tie at the neck. They carried hand-tied bouquets of pink hydrangeas.

Lance Nutt served as best man. Groomsmen were Russell Stevenson, Daniel Boggs, Trey Wynne, David Anthony, Patrick and Nicholas Brown, brothers of the groom, and John R. Thompson, Jr., brother of the bride.

Stephanie Motes served as flower girl and Micah Lyons served as ring-bearer.

Ushers were Justin Brown, Thomas Brown, Taylor Scriber, Hunter Taylor, and Edward Turner.

Jennifer Rutherford Modrak and Amanda Pharr served as welcome hostesses. Church coordinators were Ann Cain and Jennifer Fox.

An afternoon reception followed at Pine Bluff Country Club coordinated by Young Designs of Little Rock.

After a honeymoon in Waikiki Beach, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Sheridan where the bride is an art teacher at Sheridan Middle School and the groom works in sales at Arkansas Mill Supply in Little Rock.
