UAM choirs to present Christmas concert


MONTICELLO — The concert and chamber choirs of the University of Arkansas at Monticello will present a program of traditional and classical holiday music at a Christmas Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in the UAM Fine Arts Center auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

Conducted by Kent Skinner, director of choral activities, the choirs will perform a program that will include Leavitt’s “Hodie” and “Ave Maria” by Gretchaninov, “Psalm 150” by Hanson, and two works by Mozart — “Regina Coeli” and “Ave Verum Corpus.”

The concert will also include Robert Shaw and John Rutter arrangements of traditional Christmas carols. Student soloists will include Chelsea Culp of Henderson, Texas, Katie King of Warren, Dylan Cash Miles of McGehee, Derik Williamson of Hamburg, Travon Block of Monticello, and Carrie Ann Savage of Warren.
