Space is still available for the summer camps to be held at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas.
The camps will provide an opportunity for kids to explore at the Arts & Science Center in one of our three educational camps for two age groups in art, science, and theater. Art Camp students will learn printmaking and experience creating mono prints, collagraphs, and linoleum cut prints, watercolor, tempera and acrylic painting. Science Camp students will learn circuits, engineering, audio and video storytelling, shadow puppetry and automata. Theater Camp students will learn the fundamentals of acting — combining voice, body and imagination to create believable moments on stage.
Scholarships are available. For more information, please visit www.ArtsScienceCenter.org.
The center, located at 701 Main St., is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday and is closed on Sunday. Support for the center is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the Center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
