Simmons First Classic Club spends day at Oaklawn

The Simmons First National Bank Classic Club recently spent a windy but beautiful day watching the thoroughbred horse racing at Oaklawn Gaming & Racing, according to club director, Misti A. Smykla, who escorted the group.

The group enjoyed reserved seating just steps away from betting windows, the wonderful Chef’s Buffet, and a private bar — complete with a party hostess and a team of very attentive servers. Each table had a monitor for easy viewing. Of course, the multi-level wall of windows allowed great viewing access, as well. Some had luck with the day’s favorites, others with a few long shots, and all had fun.

Members who attended were Rosemary Baird and her guest, Mandy Alford, Bob Barringer and Jackie Henderson, Carol Carter (this was Carol’s first trip to the races), Sarah Clifton, Ann Foerster and her daughter, Marsha Adams, Faye Gant, H.O. and Lula Gray, Lucille Hendrix, Joey Holthoff and her brother, Ben Boren, Rose Huber, Connie Kitchens, Elois Knox and her guest, Barbara Davis, Theresa Kraeszig, Bobbie Kurris, Virginia Littlejohn and her guest, Jackie McCray, Harold Manning, Phil and Mary McBee, Jemmie Moseley, Linda Moss, Calvin and Margie Murphy, Rita Phillips, Georgetta Rhodes, Bill and Kitty Rubenstein, Ann Scott and her daughter, Marian Scott, Becky Simmons, Barbara Smith, and Sandra Weir.
