Shepherd’s Center announces additional classes for spring session


Shepherd’s Center of Pine Bluff announces additional classes for its spring session.

The “This and That” classes will be held once starting on Wednesday. The class on this date will include instructions on making a dessert three-tiered serving tray, taught by Brenda Robinson of the Grace Willing Workers Home Extension Club. There will be a small fee for the materials.

March 13 will be a lesson on “How to use your I-pads, I-pods and cell phones, taught by Antony Whittington and Lee Anderson, county Extension agents. On March 20, Marnette Reed and Jo Ann Carr of the White Hall Willing Workers Extension Homemakers Club will teach a class on making a candle holder centerpiece. A small fee to make and take home will be charged.

Zelda Hoaglan will teach a cooking class on April 3. Participants on April 10 will experience “Making Designer Jewelry”, taught by Vi Daniels, jewelry maker. There is also a small fee for supplies in this class.

The month of April will include a Garden/Yard Tour at a lovely home. Participants are asked to bring a plant for a plant swap on this date. On April 24, a class will be taught on making a treasure out of recycled items.

The class “Learning to play Mahjong” will be held only four times during the month of March.

Other classes will meet on each Wednesday for eight weeks during the session. Those classes are line dancing, art workshop, needle work, canasta, photography, Tai Chi and other exercises, exploring the Bible, bird watching and Toastmaster course, “Learning to Communicate in Public.”

Computer classes will be on Thursdays for eight weeks.

A $10 sign-up fee is payable at the time of class. Classes are held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 15th Avenue and Olive Street.
