Senior Citizens-Students Day set for Thursday at fair


Senior Citizens-Students Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Southeast Arkansas Livestock Fair & Rodeo at Hestand Stadium.

Senior citizens throughout Southeast Arkansas are invited to attend and participate in the exciting entertainment, health screenings and health education, games and booths that are being specifically planned for the elderly population of Arkansas. There is no admission charge to attend and participate in this special one-day event.

The following is a tentative schedule of activities for the day:

9 a.m. — Gates open for senior citizens arriving by van or private vehicle

9:30 a.m. — Games, health screenings and exhibits open

9:30 a.m. — Cummins Prison Band performing in the arena

10 a.m. — Opening ceremony in the arena

10:15 a.m. — Games, health screenings and exhibits re-open

10:15 a.m. — Pine Bluff Star Steppers Square Dancing performing in the exhibit hall

11 a.m. — Doug Scallion performing in the arena

11 a.m. — Complimentary hot dogs, cokes and ice cream Ice Cream in the designated concession area at the entrance to

exhibitors hall

11:30 a.m. — Cummins Prison Band performing in the arena

Noon — Line dancers performing in the exhibit hall

12:30 p.m. — Cummins Prison Band performing in the arena

2 p.m. — Entertainment, games, all activities and screenings conclude

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s mobile aquarium will be on display in the exhibit hall. Clowns will also be strolling through the fair and exhibit areas.
