Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary installs officers for 2013-2014

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary recently held its regular meeting.

Forty campers will be sponsored by the Auxiliary. The Wingate Foundation awarded a $3,500 grant toward the tuition cost of $8,300 and a $1,500 grant was awarded by Synergy for dufflebags and contents for the campers.

Outgoing president DeDe Foster thanked the Auxiliary members for their cooperation and encouragement during her three years at the helm. Capt. Joanna Robinson presented a gift to Foster and thanked her for all of her work for the Auxiliary and the Corps.

Using “Hands to Work-Hearts to Love”, an installation service by Capt. Susie Erickson, Robinson installed the 2013-2014 officers with the theme of the Quilt. It takes work to bring pieces of the Quilt together which reflects the work of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary members. As each officer stepped forward, Robinson gave the obligation of office and presented them with the Quilt Sampler, The Quilt of Life Devotional Book and a thimble.

Officers installed were president, Berinda Wallace Eugene; vice president, Carolyn Uschold; recording/corresponding secretary, Barbara Rhinehart; and treasurer, Linda Minyard. Presenting a Gratitude card, Eugene thanked Robinson for her service and hard work over the last four years. Capts. David and Joanna Robinson will be leaving for their new assignment in Conway in June. A reception will be held in their honor at the Corps Office on June 11 at 10 a.m.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. All women who are interested in the work of the Salvation Army are invited to attend. For information, contact Robinson at 870-534-0504.
