The Relay For Life of Jefferson County will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Hestand Stadium. The event is an American Cancer Society program honoring cancer survivors and remembering those who lost their battle to the disease.
Anyone who wants to honor cancer survivors, caregivers, or pay tribute to those who have died is invited to join the Relay for Life. For more information, call 1-800-ACS-2345, or visit www.RelayForLife.org.
The Relay For Life organizers will also host its annual Tyson Chicken Dinner fundraiser cooked by Cap’n Craig and Sons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17. Tickets are being pre-sold and can be purchased by any Relay For Life team member or by calling Leslie Humphrey, American Cancer Society’s community representative, at 692-0398.
Meanwhile, the city of Pine Bluff’s Relay For Life team recently announced that it has exceeded its fundraising goal of $4,000, according to Lanette Frazier, the city’s special projects coordinator. The team raised $4,024.78.
