The Cotton Belt Rail Historical Society Inc., will host a Christmas book signing by Richard Pena, a former Cotton Belt Railroad locomotive engineer, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arkansas Railroad Museum, 1700 Port Road.
Pena’s granddaughter, Johnna, inspired him to write a song about Christmas, Rudolph, Santa and a train. From a song that he had written, “Santa’s Gonna Ride a Freight Train this Year,” came the story, “The Train that Saved Christmas.”
The hardback book sells for $20 and the paperback sells for $15.
The public is invited to attend this event and with with Pena.
