Pine Bluff woman celebrates 100th birthday

Mary Magdalene Debro celebrated her 100th birthday Wednesday.

She was born Dec. 5, 1912, to the late Hubbard and Elizabeth Banks. She is the fourth of seven children and is the only survivor. She married Tommy Debro in 1930 and to that union two children were born, Mazie Hunt Tyree and William Debro.

She currently resides in the same home she has lived in since the early 1940s. She retired from The Truck Stop Café on University Drive as a cook in 1974. She currently attends First Baptist Dew Drop.

She is the matriarch of five generations of the family. She has a legacy of nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, with one preceding her in death, the late Sonya Hunt Hall; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
