P.E.O. chapter hears Extension service program


P.E.O. Chapter AU/BZ recently met in the home of Lynn Castleberry with Julian Ann Beckhum and JoAnn Ruggeri serving as co-hostesses.

President Jo Neal welcomed Mary Ann Kizer who presented a program on Strong Women.

Mary Ann is employed by the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service. She explained the many programs offered by the service such as Spending Smart, Finding Solutions for Families, Raising Responsible Children, Exercising and Eating Right, Navigating the Health Care System and Communicating Effectively. Kizer urged each of us to take advantage of these programs.

Next, the meeting was called to order and reports of committees were presented. The Founders Day Celebration was to be held April 18 at Lakeside Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. It was to be a potluck with Jo Neal providing the B-day cake and Pam Estes presenting the History of P.E.O.

The BIL Party will be held May 9 at First Methodist Fellowship Hall. Moore’s Barbecue will provide the food.

The next meeting will be held at the home of Susan Brown. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned and dessert was served.
