PBHS Class of 1960 meets for potluck dinner, fish fry

The Pine Bluff High School Class of 1960 met last month for a potluck dinner at the home of Jerry and Ruby Wessels Poteet.

The blessing was given by Jerry Poteet.

Those attending were Mary Ann Sweeney and daughter-in-law, Renee, Bill and Norma Ridgway Ray, Janice Helvie Tiner and guest, Billy Cheek, Jerry and Ruby Wessels Poteet, and Arlie and Barbara Rogers Langrell. The dinner included brisket, purple hull peas, orka, potato salad, cream corn cassrole, potato casserole, deviled eggs, cornbread, tea, chocolate chip cookies, coconut cream custard and chocolate rice chrispie cookies.

The group also finalized the plans for the fish fry. On Oct. 20 the class gathered from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AECC Pavilion at Little Rock.

Those attending were Tiner, Barbara Petty Rushing, John McAlister, Bob and Lenora Porter, Arlie and Barbara Rogers Langrell, Bill and Norma Ridgway Ray, all of Pine Bluff, Sandra Goodbar McFalls of Bryant, Linda Sines Weadock of Hot Springs, Ollie and Janice McAllister of Hot Springs Village, Jim Handley of Benton, Dave and Patsy Ashcraft Taylor of Paragould, Andy and Lee Bolding Calloway of Loyal, and Bob and Linda Walker of Jacksonville.

The menu consisted of catfish, chicken strips, shrimp, seasoned potatoes, slaw, peach cobber and a 70th birthday cake. The cooks were B.W. Herring, Lewis Cheek and Billy Cheek.

The next class get-together will be at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Wright’s Ranch House BBQ, 6220 Dollarway Road.

All classmates are urged to come and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
