PBHS Class of 1960 holds monthly get-together

The Pine Bluff High School Class of 1960 met recently at the Wright’s Ranch House Barbecue on Dollarway Road.

Arlie Langrell opened the meeting by blessing the food. Those attending were Marie Brown Jones and guest, J.W. Anderson, Arlie and Barbara Rogers Langrell, Doug and Linda Smith, Janice Helvie Tiner, Jimmy and Floy Davis, Bill and Norma Ridgway Ray, and Norma’s daughter, Mandy Stringfellow from Florida, Jerry and Ruby Wessels Poteet, and Mary Ann Sweeney Greenlee.

Greenlee brought a peaches and creme pie for dessert. Margaret Woodfield Wright, who died recently, put the pie in the class cookbook for the 50th class reunion. Greenlee and Mary Ray Wegar enjoy cooking with each other.

The next get-together will be held at the home of Ruby and Jerry Poteet. Billy Cheek will be the cook for the fish fry cook-out honoring the group’s ninth-grade study hall teacher, Inez Westbrook, who will be celebrating her 100th birthday.
