Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, on Thursday February 21, 2013.
The featured speaker will be Karen Jordan from Hot Springs Village. Jordan is a creative writer of non-fiction focusing on her faith, family and writing. Her main focus is on the theme, “BLESSED: Building Legacies, Encouraging Spiritual Stories and Equipping Disciples.” The title of her speech will be “Telling the Stories That Matter Most.”
She is a native Texan from the Southeast area of Texas. She holds a master of arts degree in professional and technical writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is a writing coach, contract editor, author and former adjunct writing instructor. She is the co-founder of the StoryWriting Studios in which she has contributed to various online and printed publications including several book compilations. Jordan is also an agented author of Alice Crider, which is part of Word Serve Literary Group.
She is married to Dan Jordan and lives close to their son and daughter and seven grandchildren.
The special feature will be Stephanie Rodgers, who will be singing various types of songs. She is very active at Watson Chapel Baptist Church in its choral program.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in agriculture, Rodgers is employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. While at the university she was Student Ambassador, a member of the Agri Club and a member of the Concert and Community choirs. She is an alumnus of Leadership Arkansas. She takes pride in her son, Baker.
Virginia Haertlein will be in charge of the decorations for the tables.
All women in Pine Bluff and surrounding communities are invited to attend the luncheon. This event is sponsored by Christian Women’s Connection, which is part of the Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, Mo.
