Inis Ray of Pine Bluff was recently judged as the Arkansas League of Artists’ Best in Show winner, according to Tom Crowder, ALA spokesman.
Forty-four out of the 107 pieces that were entered were accepted to be hung in the exhibit. There were five categories with first, second and third place awards, plus the Best of Show award.
The exhibit is located at the Butler Center Galleries in the Arkansas Studies Institute building at Little Rock. The show will run through Jan. 26, 2013.
Juror David Bailin is a longtime educator and artist who currently teaches drawing at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway. He received his bachelor of fine arts degree in painting from the University of Boulder in Colorado and his master’s degree from Hunter College in New York. From 1986 to 1996, he was the director of the Museum School at the Arkansas Arts Center.
