Local Boy Scout troop honors leader

Troop No. 100 of the Boy Scouts of America, sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, recently honored Wirt Heagler, longtime Scoutmaster and leader in the Pine Bluff community, during a Court of Honor ceremony.

Heagler was awarded the John R. Fordyce III, Scoutmaster Legacy Award for 2012. His many years of service as a Scoutmaster has had a profound impact on scouts, inspiring them as adults to serve as Scout volunteer leaders. His dedication and leadership has served to perpetuate the Scouting movement, providing inter-generational continuity of leadership.

Troop No. 100 has been active in the Pine Bluff area for 65 years. At this time there are many youth in Troop No. 100 who are currently pursuing their Eagle Scout awards.
