Former teacher to speak at PB Christian Women’s Connection luncheon

Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

The featured speaker will be Betty Jo Faulkner. She has been a Stonecroft speaker for nearly 20 years. She is an avid gardener as she lived many years on Hilton Head Island where her garden was featured on the House and Garden tour. She then moved to Texas and had to learn about flowers that would live and grow in the extreme heat of Texas. She is a beachcomber and has traveled to lovely beaches whenever she can. She is a former teacher, a mother of three and Mimi to seven grandchildren.

Faulkner has faced many challenges in her life. Her son had a severe head injury and she had a bout with cancer. She endured a family business that divided and a family breakup. Thus, she has learned to run the race of life with perseverance, courage, and strength in spite of the many hurdles. She has found incredible joy in this journey.

The title of her speech will be “Finding Joy that Remains in Spite of Life’s Hurdles.”

The special feature is a Style/Fashion Show presented by Bobby Simpson of TuTu’s. There will also be more fashion surprises as well.

All women in Pine Bluff and surrounding communities are invited to attend the luncheon. This event is sponsored by Christian Women’s Connection, which is part of the Stonecroft Ministries at Kansas City, Mo.

The cost of the luncheon is $13.50, which includes meal, tax and gratuity. To make a reservation you may call Mary Bearden at 870-489-4710.
