Fashion extravaganza, luncheon set for Saturday at Convention Center

The fifth annual Easter Fashion Parade Extravaganza and Silent Auction, sponsored by the Jefferson County Single Parent Scholarship Board, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

This year’s theme is Mardi Gras Fashion 2013.

The event will include a luncheon, silent auction, vendors and door prizes. Guests can also have photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

“The Jefferson County forecast for spring is bold bright colors with a mixture of accessories: hats — heads up ladies, eye wear — the eyes have it and scarves — knot it up and tie it up from head to toe,” said Alamae Harris, event chairman. “And it looks like a 100 percent chance of jewelry — accessories, accessories, accessories.”

The style show will feature men’s, women’s and children’s clothing from area retailers. Attendees can expect to see the latest in dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear and accessories.

Jewelry, purses, gift baskets, housewares and more will go to the highest bidders during the silent auction.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the Jefferson County Single Parent Scholarship Fund. The fund’s mission is to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post-secondary education.

Tickets are $5 for children ages 6 and under, $10 for students and $15 for general admission. For ticket information, call 870-413-9494 or 870-692-2772.
