The Arkansas Fallen Riders Association will hold its monthly breakfast and meeting Saturday in the Christian Life Center of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, 5514 Pinnacle Lane.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m.
The meeting will focus on motorcycle safety. Lloyd VanOver with the Arkansas State Police Motorcycle Awareness Commission will be the guest speaker. He will have his Motorcycle Simulator on-hand and will be able to answer any questions about laws and motorcycle safety and statistics.
This past month the Arkansas Fallen Riders Association helped the families of three motorcycle accidents. John Wygal of Star City was hit by a deer in early September and is in the Baptist Hospital Long Care facility. Saturday after the breakfast, the group plans to have a 100-point run for Wygal and his wife, Tina, to raise money to help with family expenses as they stay in Little Rock. Donations for the family will also be accepted at the breakfast.
The 100-point run is $10 per bike and $5 per extra draw. The payout is to be determined.
The group will also hold its memorial service and ride on Nov. 3. Those interested in honoring someone and having their name placed on the AFRA Memorial Cross, should contact Richard Grimmett at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Oct. 17.
All riders are welcome.
