Crown Club members come together for monthly luncheons

Relyance Bank Crown Club members are still enjoying monthly luncheons, which are a time to come together and visit with old friends, make new friends and enjoy a delicious meal.

Last month members dined on fried catfish or chicken, coleslaw, baked potatoes or fries and hushpuppies at Leon’s Catfish and Shrimp Restaurant.

Roy Bullard was the birthday winner and received $50. Others recognized for a May birthday were Marnelle Clement, Marzee Weatherford and Harold Bullard. They each received a PBNB “Like to Travel? Join the Club” jar opener.

Voy Weatherford was the free dinner winner and Bob Smith won an umbrella. Other door prize winners were Marie McGriff, Christa Bruner, Benjamin Duhart, Marvin Bullock, James Grimes, Helen Duhart, Billy McGriff and Patsy Shell Johnson.

In June, the club gathered at the Relyance Bank Community Room at White Hall for hamburgers with all the fixings, grilled by Vince Stone and Chris Cummings of the bank. They also dined on baked potato salad, baked beans and homemade brownies with ice cream for dessert.

After fellowship time and the much enjoyed luncheon, each person celebrating a June birthday was presented with a special “Like to Travel? Join the Club” jar opener. They were Jerry Reap and Barbara Stone. Stone was the birthday winner of $50.

Robert Rosen was the free lunch winner and Reap won an umbrella. Other door prize winners were Nancy Rosen, Mary Ann Grimes, Harold Bullock, Helen Duhart, Bobbie Bullock, Marzee Weatherford, George Reap, Imajean McCarroll, Thomas McCarroll, Vi Ross, Voy Weatherford and Benjamin Duhart.

Winners of an additional $25 were given last month to Elois Knox and Ann Bullock in celebration of the Crown Club’s 25th anniversary. Cindy Whitwell concluded the luncheon with news of a great upcoming San Antonio Christmas trip staying on the Riverwalk. July is the sign-up deadline for this tour.

Others from the bank assisting with the luncheon were Greg Garner, Janice Acosta, Kandy Moore and Pat Bethea.
