Christian Women’s luncheon to feature national speaker

Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon from 11:30 am to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

The featured speaker will be Brenda Copeland of Bastrop, La.

Copeland is a national speaker for Stonecroft Ministries headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. She speaks at more than 100 conferences, churches and fairs each year. She currently hosts Fully Alive on KMCT-TV at Monroe, La., and has appeared on Talk from the Heart, a nationally syndicated radio program. She shares with her audience how after straying away from church and living a life of drugs, alcohol and spousal abuse, she found peace in Christ. The death of her grandmother forced her to make a decision to return to Christ. “I was standing at her funeral and realized she was going to heaven and I wasn’t. I said ‘Lord, if you want me — I am yours,” Copeland said.

Her and her husband, Kelvin, have been married for 33 years and pastor East Haven Church of God at Bastrop.

Copland’s speech will be titled “Stealz and Deals.”

Copeland will also be the special feature. Born at Houston, Texas, but raised in Pontotoc County, she began singing in church when she was 3 years old. Since then, she has appeared on many television and radio programs, including the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and also the Prime Time Christian Broadcasting (GLC). She has been honored with several Gospel Music Awards, including Soloist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. She has recorded 11 gospel music albums and a DVD project.

All women in Pine Bluff and surrounding communities are invited to attend the luncheon. This event is sponored by Christian Women’s Connection, which is part of the Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City.
