This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.


14-15 — The White Hall High School Choral Department will present its Madrigal Feaste 2012 at 7 p.m. Dec. 14-15 at the Pine Bluff Country Club. The fare will include a traditional feast of roasted pork, wassail and flaming plum pudding, plus a program of holiday music. 14-31 — This year’s “Enchanted Land of Lights & Legends” is open and will remain open until New Year’s Eve. The drive-through holiday light display will be open from 6-9 p.m. each day in the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. 15 — The Cotton Belt Rail Historical Society Inc., will host a Christmas book signing by Richard Pena, a former Cotton Belt Railroad locomotive engineer, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arkansas Railroad Museum, 1700 Port Road.

15 — The Pine Bluff Desktop Museum will host a “Show-Off Show” at The Pines mall Food Court from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Internet-based Pine Bluff Desktop Museum is inviting those who have “old Pine Bluff stuff” to bring it and show it off. Old items might include Pine Bluff newspapers older than 40 years, old photographs or videos of Pine Bluff, old Pine Bluff advertising items, old Pine Bluff bottles, jugs, books, directories, signs and anything old with “Pine Bluff” on it.

18 — Dee “The Gospel Angel” Clay will present an Evening of Praise at The Gardens at Whispering Knoll, 6814 S. Hazel St., at 6:30 p.m. The evening will feature Solace House Praise Dancers, Witnezz, New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church choir and others. Words of encouragement will be by Karen McMiller of Solace House Ministries.

18 — The Pine Bluff Quilter’s Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4200 Old Warren Road, for its Christmas program.

21 — The sixth annual “A Jazzy Christmas”, featuring Legoria Payton & Friends, will be held at 7:30 p.m. at The Ramada Plaza Hotel-Atrium, 2 Convention Center Plaza. The evening will feature a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, live jazz and dancing. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are available at Treasure Chest Bridals at The Pines Mall, Fathers and Sons Clothier in Jefferson Square and Novel T’s at 1616 S. Linden St. Those attending are asked to bring an unwrapped gift for a child, to be donated to the Pine Bluff Salvation Army.

22 — Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., will host its 45th annual Debutante Cotillion at 7 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
