This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.
2 — John Good and Friends will perform during Live@5 at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., from 5-7 p.m. Cost of the evening is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. The event is sponsored by M.K. Distributors.
3 — St. Luke United Methodist Church, 32 School St., will host its annual “Taste of Fall” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Frozen main-dish casseroles, vegetables, cornbread dressing, pies, cakes, cookies, jams and pickles will be available. A new feature this year will be vendor tables to showcase their merchandise and a door prize drawing for a handmade blanket will be held. 10 — The Old Town Theatres Centre will present a dinner theatre with Lawrence Sullivan in Richard Bach’s, “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”, at the Pine Bluff Country Club. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30. Tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance. The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 7. 10 — Hawley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1575 Ridgway Road, will hold its annual Fall Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include a country store, crafts, and a chicken spaghetti lunch. Items featured at the country store include homemade breads, desserts, canned jellies, relishes and preserves. The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chicken spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert, and a drink will be available for $6 as dine in or carry-out.
10 — The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service’s “Navigating the Financial Journey”, will be taught from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 Idaho St. For a fee of $15 per person, participants will cover topics including budget development, money management, wise use of credit, and consumer protection. 16 — The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers will sponsor a workshop, “Little Dresses for Africa” from 9 a.m. to noon in the conference room at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 S. 17 — Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, 3703 Ryburn Road, will host its annual Holiday Craft Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A soup lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items available will include handmade crafts, decorations, baked goods, candies, jellies, frozen casseroles, Christmas cards and more. 19 — The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers will sponsor a “Chenille Snowman” workshop from 9 a.m. to noon in the conference room at the Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service, 500 S. 7 — Tickets for the annual Christmas Luncheon and Festival of Tables, sponsored by the Pine Bluff Salvation Army Auxiliary, are on sale. The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Great Hall of First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave. All tickets are $15 each, with carry-outs available.
