Boys and Girls Club welcomes two new board members

The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The board of directors aids in this mission.

John Foster and Kali Walker were recently admitted to the board as two new members. Foster is an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, having served there for six years. He was awarded tenure last spring. Foster received his bachelor of arts from the University of Minnesota and his doctorate from the University of Florida. He and his wife, Srey, have one son.

Walker is a native of Stuttgart. She is the event coordinator for the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County. She and her husband have a 3-year-old son, Britain.

The current board of directors members of the Boys and Girls Club are Leslie Peters, chief professional officer; Scott Robinson, president; Herman Horace, vice president; Marian Evans-Lee, secretary; Barbara Rhinehart, assistant secretary, Calvin Matlock, treasurer, Mattie P. Collins, Virginia Hymes, Albert G. Alley, Rita Conley, Charles Girley, Jerry G. Ingram, Albert King, Carla M. Martin and Matt Soto.
