“You’re Among Friends” will be the theme for the tea honoring the contestants in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority’s Citywide Valentine Queen Contest, set for 2 p.m. today at the home of Cindy Richardson of Xi Delta Beta Chapter, the coordinator for the tea.
Chapter Valentine queens will be judged at the tea by out-of-town members of Beta Sigma Phi. The 2013 citywide queen will be named and crowned at the 65th annual Valentine Ball, to be held Saturday at the Pine Bluff Arsenal Officers Club.
Richard Davies will be the master of ceremonies for the event. The reigning queen, Skye Rauls of Delta Zeta Chapter, is the ball coordinator.
The 2013 chapter queens will be recognized at the ball. The queens are Sara Milner of Xi Delta Beta Chapter and Sarah Castleberry of Delta Zeta Chapter.
Milner has been a sorority member since 2004 and has served as president, vice president and corresponding secretary for her chapter. She has also served on ways and means and service committees since she joined Xi Delta Beta. She has served on the Beta Sigma Phi City Council six of the nine years she has been a member. She was chosen Pledge of the Year and Women of the Year for her chapter. She has been involved with the Relay for Life, ABATE, Smoke on the Water, the annual Pine Bluff 4th of July celebration and many other events to help people in need.
She is married to Bobby Milner and they have two daughters, Afton Burdick (Jacob) and Bailey Martin (Geoffrey). They also have two granddaughters, McKenzie and Kenley Burdick.
Milner is the daughter of the late Calvin and Willene Rice. Her hobbies include working in her yard, helping people in anyway she can, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Castleberry, a White Hall resident, has been a member of the Delta Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi since 2009. She is one of the founding members of Delta Zeta, a friendly Venture chapter, created in 2009. She currently serves on the executive board for Delta Zeta as the recording secretary. She also serves on the service and social committees, and previously served on the ways and means committee and other various committees.
Castleberry has worked for Simmons First National Bank for the past 14 years and is currently a consumer banking officer and branch manager of the main bank in Pine Bluff. She is married to Tommy Castleberry. They have four boys, Davan, Brandt, Hunter and Mason. She is the daughter of Tony and Reta Walters of Sheridan. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Castleberry has numerous volunteer hours through her sorority with several organizations such as Transformation Project and The Call. She also has volunteer hours for several fundraisers such as Kids Fest, Optimist, The White Hall Chamber, Butch “Curly” Walters Memorial Golf Tournament, and Delta Zeta’s Annual Crawfish Boil.
