Author, recording artist to speak at PB Christian Women’s luncheon

Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

The featured speaker will be Patty Curl of Ponca City, Okla. Curl is a national speaker and author. She is married to Spencer Curl. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 16, 2013. They have two children, Lori and John, and one granddaughter.

Curl is a women’s retreat and conference speaker in addition to speaking for Christian Women’s clubs across the United States. She has spoken and sang in 46 states. She started a phone crisis line for youth in her community named TeenLine. She was coordinator for this organization for 2 1/2 years. She also has spoken on drug and alcohol abuse for 10 years and has been a court mediator for her county for a year.

Curl’s book is called “Snapshots of Grace…Divine Appointments with God.” She will be sharing stories from her book. She has been contracted to write a second book because of the success of her first. This book should be released in 2014.

Curl, a concert soloist and recording artist, will also be the special feature. She has released eight CDs. Her first two were produced at the Bill Gaither Studios in Indiana. She won the “most talented award” in the “Miss Georgia” pageant for her vocal performance. In 1996, she was asked to sing at the Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion, where she sang “God Bless America.” She has been the featured soloist at a Branson Conference Center for seven years. She is a member of a 300-woman choir, which is called “Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma.” Her CDs are regularly played on Christian radio stations in Houston, Texas, Iowa, and Nashville, Tenn.

Virginia Haertlein will be in charge of the decorations for the event .

All women in Pine Bluff and surrounding communities are invited to attend the luncheon. This event is sponored by Christian Women’s Connection, which is part of the Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, Mo.
