Arts & Science Center sets photography class

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will hold its Photography I with Eric Maynard class beginning Feb. 28 and continuing each Thursday through April 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The cost of the class is $85 for members and $105 for non-members.

Participants will learn the basics of the camera and become familiar with its many features and functions. They will also learn how to control the look of photographs. Lighting, shutter speeds and apertures and how to control them will also be covered in the class.

The center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Support for ASC is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
