The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., is now taking registrations for its upcoming Photography I class with Eric Maynard.
The class will begin Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will continue each Thursday through Oct. 17. The cost is $85 for members and $105 for non-members.
Photo I will teach participants the basics of the camera, help them get familiar with its many features and functions, and teach how to control the look of the photographs instead of just grabbing a snapshot. Participants will also learn to understand lighting, shutter speeds and apertures and how to control them to get the look you want in your photos.
The center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Support for ASC is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
