The Arkansas County Spring Home and Garden Show on April 6 promises something for everyone interested in their home or garden.
The show will begin with the opening of the trade show from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Arkansas County Fairgrounds at DeWitt. Regional vendors will be present with plants, garden related gifts, crafts, and much more. The Arkansas County Master Gardeners will again have a plant booth and there will also be a “kids” craft booth.
The gate fee for the trade show is $2 per person with children under 12 free.
Following the trade show, the educational phase of the program will begin as Chris Olsen will present the program, “Live Life to the Fullest Starting with Your Home and Garden”. Olsen attended Oxford University in England, studying landscape architecture, landscape principals, and philosophy and also graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in business. He is now working solely at Botanica in Little Rock as the master designer. He has been associated with KTHV Channel 11, where he is featured on the morning, noon, and evening home and garden segments in the Weather Garden. He now has his own weekly segments called “Today’s Home” with Chris Olsen.
Guests will enjoy a luncheon prepared by the Arkansas County Master Gardeners. The meal will consist of dishes from the Arkansas County Master Gardener Cookbook: The Cream of the Crop. Tickets to the program and luncheon are $15 each (limited to 125 seats). The gate fee for the trade show will be free with the purchase of a luncheon ticket. For luncheon tickets, contact Beth Carter at 870-946-6207, or the Arkansas County Extension Office at 870-946-3231 or 870-673-2346.
