The Archonettes of Epsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., recently completed an “Interview and Dress for Success” Seminar with Tracy Knowlton, a member of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Career Services office.
The seminar, which focused on the accepted practices and standards in the business world, was held at the Zeta House, located on the campus of UAPB.
The young ladies participated in mock interviews with Knowlton, where she then advised them on the correct ways to answer and ask questions while speaking with employers. She also advised them on the finer points of dressing when it comes to not only interviews, but when it comes to being on the job.
“Our Archonettes have a very active spring semester this year,” said Mitzy Allen, adviser of the group. “They have community service projects planned, as well as a spring luncheon that is currently in the works. They will have to attend the State and Regional Leadership conferences for the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and this year, their large project will be the “Senior” Prom at the Arkansas Convalescent Center, located on Hazel Street.”
Kenya Fullilove, Azerria Cobb, Nautica Harris, Kionna Anthony, Essence Briggs, Tyree Roberson, Lecole Wilson, Ticara Boyd, Antwalisia Newman, and Shaquita McFadden, all students at Watson Chapel Junior and SeniorHigh schools, make up the roster for this year’s group of young ladies. Fullilove, a sophomore, is the president of the group, and Roberson, a freshman, is the secretary.
The Archonettes are the youth auxiliary group of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. The main goal is to take part in major community service projects that Zeta supports. The auxiliary plays a critical role in helping the sorority advance its ideals of scholarship, service, sisterly love and finer womanhood.
