4-H Teen Leader Club announces meeting

The Jefferson County 4-H Teen Leader Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the conference room of the county Extension office, 500 Idaho St.

County teenagers ages 13-19 are invited to join the club. Membership is free. Interested parents and adult volunteers are invited to attend this meeting as well.

According to Pia Woods, county Extension agent-4-H Youth Development, this 4-H project club is designed to engage Jefferson County teens in experiential leadership and life skills development through the use of 4-H research-based curriculum. Teens will be actively involved in planning and conducting county 4-H workshops and camps and will have opportunities to serve in other leadership roles on the county, district and state levels and also serve as 4-H program spokesmen.

A variety of leadership activities are planned for this program year, Woods said, including a spring break trip to the Arkansas 4-H Center and the ExCEL (Experience the Challenge, Experience the Leadership) Ropes Course and the State Capitol.
