Megan Wood and Jonathan Curtis to exchange wedding vows in December

DUMAS — Mr. and Mrs. Roger Wood of Dumas announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Elizabeth Wood, to Jonathan Edward Curtis, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Curtis of Dumas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William and Judy Briney of Dumas and Mrs. Lyla Wood and the late Billy Wood Sr. of Manila, formerly of Gould. A 2008 graduate of Dumas High School, she earned a bachelor of science in education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2012. Miss Wood is employed by the Dumas Special School District as a fifth-grade reading teacher and is also junior high cheerleading coach.

Mr. Curtis is the grandson of Mrs. Wanda Majors West and the late Sam Majors of Star City and the late Ed and Jean Curtis of Dermott. A graduate of Dumas High School, he is self-employed as a farmer.

The couple will exchange wedding vows at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the First Baptist Church in Dumas with the Rev. Buddy Ratliff officiating.

All friends and family of the couple are invited to the ceremony and to the reception which will immediately follow at Walnut Lake Country Club in Pickens.
