Jim and Chris Yarbrough to celebrate 50th anniversary


Jim and Chris Yarbrough will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26, 2011.

They were married in Pine Bluff on Dec. 26, 1961, by the late Raymond C. Bugg.

Mr. Yarbrough spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a master chief in 1981. After many years of travel, service and deployment he and his family moved to Arkansas. He was employed by the Department of Corrections School District at the Cummins Unit and retired from this position in 2000. Mrs. Yarbrough was the owner and operator of The Hair Hut Beauty Salon and retired in 2004.

They are the parents of Glenda Clubb of Monticello and Stephanie Phelps of Glendale. They have two grandchildren, Shifawn Rawls of Saraland, Ala., and Lexie Phelps of Glendale; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Audra Rawls of Saraland, Ala.

The couple plan to celebrate their anniversary in historic Savannah, Ga.
