James and Bettye Hackney recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. James and Bettye were married on the 31st day of August 1962.

Bettye is the daughter of the late Lloyd and Eugenia Hager. James is the son of the late Reginald and Ercell Hackney. Their family includes three children and spouses, Debbie and Shannon Drake, Jimmy Hackney, Misty and Jack Gaston. They have six grandchildren, Jamie and Tyler Lewis, Trey and Carrie Hackney, John and Grey Gaston. They have two great-granddaughters, Aleecia Nicole Lewis and Heidi Layne Hackney.
