Karen Wood of Maumelle and Matthew Bowers of White Hall exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. on June 16, 2012, at Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Brother Charlie Winters officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory colored BLU by Mori Lee chiffon a-line strapless gown with embroidery detail and a sweetheart neckline. She wore diamond and pearl earrings and a silver bracelet with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangea, white freesia, and white mini calla lilies.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Teresa Wood of Maumelle. She is 2006 graduate of Oak Grove High School. She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is now currently in nursing school at Baptist Health Schools at Little Rock.
The groom is the son of Frank and Jo Ann Bowers of White Hall. He is a 2004 graduate of White Hall High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he earned a bachelor of science in business administration. He is an alumna of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He is currently employed as an operator with Southwest Power Pool in Maumelle.
Jennifer Penney of North Little Rock, sister of the bride, was the matron on honor and Bradley Sears, of Monticello, a friend from college, was the best man.
Bridesmaids were Kimberly Kaelin, Melanie Wilson, Amber Ross, Randi Gottsponer, Angel Pacheco, and Casey Jo Clark, sister of the groom.
Groomsmen were Benjamin Farrell, Bubba Tuggle, Chance Jackson, Colby Smith, Garrett Lee and Scott Wood, brother of the bride.
The flower girl was Callie Wood, niece of the bride, of Bryant and Lane Hyatt of North Little Rock served as the ring bearer. Ushers were Jason Penney and Jesse Clark, both brothers-in-law of the bride and groom.
Vocalists were Joel and Rebecca Winters, and Mary Winters as pianist. Following the wedding, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at Cock of the Walk restaurant in North Little Rock.
Following a honeymoon to the Caribbean Island of Turks and Caicos, the couple will reside in Maumelle.
