Capt. Scott Anderson, a military physician assistant at Pine Bluff Arsenal’s Occupational Health Clinic, was promoted to major during a ceremony April 2.
The ceremony was presided over by Arsenal commander Col. Franz Amann.
During the ceremony, Anderson had to renew his oath as a commissioned officer, because he is being promoted to a field grade officer. His wife, Melissa, originally from Camanche, Iowa, and daughter, Tiffani, pinned his new rank during the ceremony.
Anderson, the son of William and Jeanne Anderson of Hudson, Wis., graduated in 1990 from Hudson High School. He entered the military on June 24, 1990, as a Private E-1. He graduated from the Army Physician’s Assistant Program as a commissioned officer on May 24, 2002, and will have 22 years of service in June.
Anderson and his family are scheduled to move to Fort Sill, Okla., this summer where he will take over as the new Phase II coordinator of the Interservice Physician Assistant Program.
