Southeast Middle School students wins essay contest


Ma’Kaylah Blackston, a sixth-grade student at Southeast Middle School, recently won first place in the essay writing contest, “I Pledge to Be Drug Free,” sponsored by the Pine Bluff Police Department D.A.R.E. (Drug Awareness Resistance Education) Program.

Ma’Kayla was awarded a certificate and D.A.R.E. lion at D.A.R.E graduation, which was held at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
