The Joe Pitts Band returns to the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas from 5-7 p.m. Friday for Live@5 with a new line-up and a familiar sound.
Pitts is excited to get back where he left off, with a fresh new sound, new songs and a brand new CD for 2012. He’ll be playing slide guitar, and fusing blues with a modern sound. His band consists of Liquid Groove Mojo alumni Al Hagood on bass guitar; Delta Hurricanes powerhouse drummer Chris Moore; and Veteran Hammond B3 guru, Gene Stanley.

Live@5 has been offering live jazz, blues, rock and roll, and country performances for more than six years on the first Friday of each month in downtown Pine Bluff. The 2012 lineup includes the Joe Pitts Band, Milt Jackson, Detroit Johnnie, Legoria Payton and Friends and many more favorites.
The cost of the evening is $5 for ASC members and $10 for non-members. New for 2012, ASC is offering special ticket pricing for Live — 10 tickets are $40 for members and $75 for non-members.
M.K. Distributors is the sponsor for the event.
The center, located at 701 Main St., is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Support for ASC is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
