Grace Willing Workers discuss organizing important documents

The Grace Willing Workers met recently at Centennial Fellowship Church at White Hall.

The meeting was called to order by President Debbie James. She welcomed 23 members. Lucy Meeks gave the thought of the day: “Make copies of important papers (wills, birth certificates, car titles, etc.) but don’t file the original and copy together.”

Our Homemaker’s Creed was read by Bettye Johnson. The Handy Hint for the day was “Designate an area for all your papers.” The Inspiration was read by Doris Turberville — Proverbs 15:22, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed.” Sabrina Self-Gwin called the roll by asking each member, “Where do you store your important papers?’

The program, “Organizing Papers” was presented by Dixie Fritz. The group played a matching game. They also discussed what papers needed to be discarded, such as junk mail, catalogs and magazines, and where to discard these papers such as shredding, throwing away, or recycling.

Community Service Project: The group is to continue to work on the hats and is planning a fall hat bash.

Community Service: The goal is to collect 500 food items for the Transformation Project by June. The group has collected 377 food items.

Fundraiser: Raffle tickets are currently on sale for $1 for a chance to win a homemade afghan. The drawing will be May 10.
