Kristal Carey and Deunza Smart to marry in October


Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Carey Sr. of White Hall are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristal Anne, to Mr. Deunza Smart, son of Mr. Kenneth R. Smart of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Robin A. Harris of Hoover, Ala.

Kristal is the granddaughter of Mr. Earl Carey of Milwaukee, Wisc., and the late Lillian Carey and the late Johnnie and Louise Williams. Kristal is a graduate of White Hall high school and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She received her master’s degree from Union University of Jackson, Tenn., and is currently pursuing an educational specialist degree from Union University. She is employed at Dexter Elementary in Cordova, Tenn.

Deunza’s grandparents are Mrs. Jessie L. Harris of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Randolph Harris, Mr. Walter Smart of Newark, N.J., and Mrs. Odessa Townsend of Jacksonville, Fla. Deunza is a graduate of Bartlett High School and is currently pursing a master’s of informational technology degree from the University of Phoenix in Memphis, Tenn. Deunza is employed at Resources for Human Development in Cordova Tenn.

The couple will marry Oct. 6 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. An invitation-only reception will follow.
