Editor, The Commercial:
The Ninth Annual Old Towne Christmas, a project of the Old Towne Committee under Pine Bluff Pine Bluff Downtown Development, was held Dec. 14 from 3-5 p.m. in the Pine Bluff Convention Center Arena, after the downtown Christmas parade.
Over 900 children and adults came to enjoy the free holiday festivities that included Christmas games with prizes; holiday musical entertainment; Tommie Terrific, the magician; the wonderful balloon artist; bounce houses; and Christmas cookies, punch and popcorn. A hay ride sponsored by Jefferson County Recycling was held in the adjacent parking lot. The highlight of the afternoon was a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who handed each child a Christmas gift bag filled with holiday treats.
Everyone present had a wonderful time and the magic of the holiday season filled the arena floor. My special thanks to the committee that planned the event, chaired by Ebony Anderson. My thanks also to our very special partners who helped make Old Towne Christmas such a great afternoon: Pine Bluff Convention Center and its staff; Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation; Pine Bluff Convention and Visitors Bureau; Pine Bluff Festival Association; Fairfield Credit Union; Jefferson County Recycling; Pine Bluff Downtown Development; Wal-Mart and Brookshires Grocery.
You are deeply appreciated.
