Community turns out for open house

Editor, The Commercial:

On Saturday, June 14, Immanuel Baptist Church, 1801 West 17th, sponsored an OPEN HOUSE for the Central Park Area AND THE COMMUNITY CAME … They came from across the street, around the block … from all over the community!

The participation was grand, the food was excellent and the talent portrayed by our young people was phenomenal! There were physical activities to help keep our children healthy and active, i.e, basketball and jump houses. There were young ladies and gentlemen from our college who sang and played music for those of us that chose to sing along.

There was fun, excitement and a good time for all who attended. And love, respect and kindness were spread from one attendee to another.

I’d like to extend a very special thank you to Pastor Taylor and his lovely church family for this wonderful event. He and his congregation go above and beyond for our area already, by opening their doors every first Tuesday for our monthly Neighborhood Watch meetings. Show them just how much they’re appreciated by attending our meeting the first Tuesday in July.

If you’ve never attended a Neighborhood Watch Meeting, please mark your calendars and make plans to attend every first Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Please watch the Community Calendar for the date of our next event to be held in July at Immanuel. Central Park Watch Group will participate in this event also. By attending the monthly meetings, you’ll be kept abreast of what’s going on in our area. We are the Neighborhood Watch Group, “with a heart” for our community and we hope to see you next month!
