Board member thankful for coat donations

Editor, The Commercial:

As always, I’m touched by the generosity of a number of Jefferson County residents like Brad Self, manager of Brookshire’s on Dollarway Road and his employees; Alyson Bradford, State Farm Agent in White Hall; Dennis and Cathy Metheny, owners of Stitch and Clean, and all their employees for cleaning every donated coat. The coat donations were delivered to Neighbor to Neighbor at 1419 S. Pine Street in Pine Bluff. From there the coats were handed out by the Neighbor to Neighbor staff to the Jefferson County adults and children in need. Thank you for your much-needed donations and the tireless collection of coats.

What a big-hearted, time-consuming undertaking by both organizations, but one that is greatly appreciated! I have been a Neighbor to Neighbor board member for several years and I am astounded by nonprofit’s far-reaching contributions to our community.

I am always amazed at the wonderful and caring people we have in our area. People who don’t ask why or say they are too busy, but quickly ask, ‘What can I do to help?’

Thank you.
