Russell Williams, 82, of Pine Bluff, passed away Wednesday, July 02, 2014, at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital.
Born January 29, 1932 in Thomasville, Missouri; he was a son of the late Jesse Monroe and Martha Sisco Williams. He was reared and received his education in Salem, Missouri.
Mr. Williams served in the United States Air Force, achieving the Rank of Sergeant. He continued his service with the United States Coast Guard, serving the US Military for a total of eleven years.
He worked as a commissary supervisor with the Arkansas Department of Corrections for twelve until his retirement.
Mr. Williams was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Vernell Williams, of Pine Bluff; his children Russell Williams, Jr., of Manchester, England and Karol Williams, of Urmston, England; two step-children, Jackie Bethea, of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Diane Haddox Bethea, of Pine Bluff; and three grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014, in the Veterans Section of Graceland Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Walter Van Zandt Windsor officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Friends may sign the online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com.
