Ruby Dunbar


GREER, S.C.—Ruby Dunbar, 82, of Greer, S.C., widow of Charles Edward Dunbar, died on October 27, 2013. She is now “absent from the body, and . . . present with the Lord.”

She and her husband moved to Altheimer in 1953, and she owned Ruby’s Beauty Den there for 30 years. She retired from the Arkansas Area on Aging where she served as Site Director at Oakland Park in Pine Bluff. In Arkansas, she was a member of Altheimer Baptist Church and of Maranatha Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Ed Dunbar, and daughter-in-love, Pam, of Greenville, S.C.; two granddaughters, Kara (Jeremy) Larson of Waco, Texas, and Analeisa (Steven) Latham of Taylors, S.C.; and one great-grandchild, Kate Larson. Numerous nieces and nephews and special friends also survive her. In addition to her husband, her granddaughter, Katie, preceded her in death.
