BRADENTON, FLORIDA - Ray Henry Ederington, age 92, of Bradenton, Fla. (formerly of Warren, Ark.), died Friday March 20, 2015. Born October 10, 1922 in Warren, Ark., a son of the late Vester Vance Ederington and Ophie Helen Whitaker Ederington. He was a retired construction worker and the widower of Lois “Cricket” Parker Ederington.

Barbara McKenney

LITTLE ROCK - Barbara Sue McKenney, 62, of Little Rock, passed away March 20, 2015. Born in Goliad, Texas to Owen Lewis Rylie and Ruby Lee Malone Rylie, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of nursing experience in critical care, surgical care and clinical research at hospitals in Little Rock and Pine Bluff. She was also a published author of “The Ancient Necklace.”

Mrs. Lottie Campbell

Mrs. Lottie Wylodean [Crittendon] Campbell was born May 30, 1920, in Decatur, Ill., and passed away on March 10, 2015, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She resided in Pine Bluff with son Dr. Michael Bates since 2003. During the last phase of her life she was lovingly taken care of by daughter, Elizabeth Moore and granddaughter Marci Pope.

Ivory Johnson, Jr.

KILLEEN, TEXAS - Ret. SFC Ivory Johnson, Jr., 48, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark. passed away March 3, 2015, at a Killeen, Texas Hospital. Services will be held Friday March 13, 2015 12:00 p.m. at Perishing Park Baptist Church- Killeen, Texas. Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Visitation will be Thursday March 12, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Burial with Full Military Honors will be Friday March 13, 2015 in Killeen Texas at 2:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

STUTTGART - Funeral services for Mr. Mirl William Mitchell, Jr. , 81, of Stuttgart, Ark., passed March 8, at Crestpark in Stuttgart, will be held Friday 11 a.m. St. Paul MBC Church 4414 Hwy 33, Roe, Ark. Rev. Henry Dabner Sr. officiating. He was born June 5, 1933 in Roe, Ark. son of the late Henrietta & Mirl Mitchell Sr. He attended school St. Paul Church School. He was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Roe, Arkansas.

STAR CITY - Mieko Taylor, 79 of Star City, died Tuesday at her home. She was born December 16, 1935 in Kitamatsuura-gun, Nagasaki-ken, Japan to the late Asakichi and Hatsu Matsumoto Samejima.

SEARCY - Offie Lites, Jr., born at Pine Bluff September 30, 1923, son of Offie Lites, Sr. and Mary Estelle Evans Lites, was promoted to glory on March 4, 2015 at Searcy, Arkansas.

Cora Bradshaw

DUMAS - Cora Belle “Corky” Johnson Bradshaw, 87 of Dumas, passed away March 10, 2015 in Star City. She was born January 3, 1928 in Harrisville, Pennsylvania. She was a member of First Baptist Church and retired from Dumas Public Schools.

Anita Owings

Anita Jean Owings, age 89, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, March 7, 2015. She was born in Pine Bluff on September 5, 1925 to Levi and Hixie Singleton Harris. She was reared in Cleveland County and was the youngest of six children. Anita married Arthur Clifton Scott. They had two children. Arthur died accidentally in 1947. She then married James P. Owings in 1949, and they were married 51 years before his death. She became a Christian at a young age, and she and James were faithful members of Pine Grove Church. Also predeceasing Mrs. Owings are three sisters, Helen Browning, Iris Mae Strahan, and Arlena Scott; and two brothers, Howard Harris and Ira Harris.
