James Pennington

RISON - James M. “Hop” Pennington, age 91, of Rison, Arkansas passed away Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born March 22, 1923 in Cleveland County. Left to cherish his memory is a son, James B. Pennington and his wife Barbara of Rison; five grandchildren, James Benjamin Pennington, Pamela Mellic, Christopher Pennington, Amanda Barraclough and Chad Hall; and seven great grandchildren. RISON - Mrs. Ora Lee Langford, 62 of Rison passed Monday, November 17, 2014. She was born in Parksdale, Ark. to the late Horace and Maoler (Releford) Wainwright, Sr. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Trinity Faith Assembly Church-Rison, Ark. by Rev. Floyd Bennett. Interment will be in The New Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Donald Frigon

Donald Curtis Frigon, 84, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, November 21, 2014. Born January 5, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, a son of Frank and Norah Deck Frigon, he grew up and received his early education in Detroit. As a young man he joined the Merchant Marine, then the US Navy where he served on underwater demolition teams.

RYE - Margaret Ray Gavin, age 86, of Rye, Ark. died Sunday November 23, at Chapel Woods in Warren. Born July 31, 1928 in Rye, Ark. a daughter of the late Ray and Claudia Tooke Mercer she was a retired register nurse, a member Union United Methodist Church and the widow of Loyd Gavin.

Mrs. Rachel Annette Lee, 71 of Pine Bluff passed Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was born in Pine Bluff to the late Wilbert Charles Collins and Asrene (Williams) Collins.

Otis Boyd

Otis Boyd, 77, of Pine Bluff passed November 7, 2014 at Jeffereson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1937 in Cornerstone, Arkansas to the late John and Rosie Scott Boyd.

Linda Lamb

MONTICELLO - Linda Kay “K-Baby” Lamb, 59 of Monticello passed away November 11, 2014 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Survivors include her daughter, Treva Lamb of Monticello; her son, Undrea Lamb of Monticello; two godsons, ViToria Slade of Houston, Texas, and Shaydren Williams of Pine Bluff; three brothers, John Jr. and Kenneth Lamb, both of Monticello, and Bobby Lamb of Kansas City, Mo.; six sisters, Curtisteen Clary and Evelyn Ridgell, both of Monticello, Patricia Newton of Warren, Emma Johnson of Liberal, Kan., Shirley Lamb and Dorothy Ann Lamb, both of Clarksville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Veda Mitchell

JACKSONVILLE - Veda Lorell Mitchell, 67, Jacksonville, died November 11, 2014. She grew up farming and picking cotton and graduated from high school in Wabbaseka, Ark. She received her B.S. in Elementary Education from UAPB. She taught at Jenkins Memorial Children’s Center in Pine Bluff, Ark. and was a substitute teacher in Jefferson County. She was baptized July 4th, 1970 and began attending the Worldwide Church of God. Veda is survived by children, Joe (Melanie), James Mitchell and Kelly (Larry) Smith; grandchild, Cody Mitchell; seven brothers and sisters.

Ruby Lee

DUMAS - Mrs. Ruby W. Lee, 68, of Dumas passed Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Born July 10, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Huggins and Mary Lee Reed Williams. She was a member of Tyree Temple A.M.E. Church in Dumas serving as Sunday School Teacher, Mission President, Church Secretary and Trustee, and as Secretary at Dumas Junior High School.
